Lost and Found

View your account online!

From the Voyager catalog web page click on the "My Account:" button. Log in by entering your barcode (the 5 digits on your student ID card) and then your last name. See what you have checked out, and renew it online (one time only). You can also check to see if you have any outstanding fines or fees.

Renew items

Go to the Library Catalog and log in to "My Account" using your Barcode number (the 5 digits on your student ID card) and last name. Or call the Library at 206-239-2359. Renewals allowed one time only!

Damaged or lost items

The fee for damaged or lost items for most materials is a minimum of $60.00, and patrons are charged replacement cost if the item is more expensive than $60.00. If you feel you can find a replacement copy at a lower cost, you are welcome to discuss this with a Librarian.

All outstanding fines and fees must be paid prior to graduation or withdrawal, or your diploma or refund will not be released to you.

Disputed returns

If you've returned an item, but your library account still shows the item on loan to you, ask the circulation staff to check the shelves. If the item is on the shelves, we will immediately update your account and reverse all fines. If the item is missing from the shelves, you may complete a Dispute Form. This postpones for one quarter the missing replacement fee of $60.00 being billed to your account. At the end of the term, the Library performs a complete inventory of the collection.

If the item is not found after the inventory, you will be billed the standard replacement fee of $60.00 for books, DVDs, and videos. Another option is ask a Librarian about providing us with a replacement copy of the item yourself; good condition replacements are acceptable.

If you find the missing item during the dispute period, please return it to the Library immediately and pay any accrued overdue fines, thus avoiding the replacement fee.

Holds

If you would like to place a HOLD on an item currently checked out to another patron, please ask the library staff to do so. When the item is returned, it will be kept aside for you to pick up when you next visit the Library. Items are kept on the hold shelf for one week only, then returned to the circulating collection.

ILL Requests

Library staff will alert you with a phone call when an ILL book has arrived in the Library for pickup. If the book is not picked up by the item's due date, your patron account will be charged $5.00 and the book will be sent back. Significant costs are associated with shipping interlibrary loan items; likewise, a great deal of labor is involved with the process. Abuse of the ILL system, including consistently late returns and repeated failure to pick up ILL items, will result in a suspension of borrowing privileges on a case-by-case basis.

ILL Late Fees

Patron accounts will be charged $1.00 for each day an ILL book is kept past its due date.

Storage

Library materials that haven't circulated for a period of time may be removed from the library shelves and placed in STORAGE. To request any item from STORAGE, submit the call number to a circulation staff member.

Photocopies

The library houses a black and white photocopier. Copies cost 10 cents a page. Please bring plenty of coins and small denomination dollar bills, as the library's circulation desk does not make change. The photocopier in the library is equipped with a change machine, and handles $1 and $5 bills only.

Computer lab

The Library houses 26 workstations (10 MACs, 16 PCs), each of which is equipped with Microsoft Office applications, internet, student network access, and each networked to one shared printer. No design applications are available as these machines are dedicated for research purposes. Printing is free, but please exercise discretion in the interest of printer longevity and conservation. Printing electronic copies of full-text dissertations and theses is not permitted. Computers are available on a first come, first serve basis.

Database passwords

Argosy University database passwords are available to currently enrolled students only. Database passwords are subject to change annually; password updates will be sent out in the AU Review weekly e-newsletter at the start of Fall term. You can also pick up database passwords at the Library circulation desk with a current Argosy University Seattle ID card.

Alumni

Alumni are not allowed access to electronic databases or database passwords. Alumni are allowed to use the computer lab and materials on-site, but are not granted borrowing privileges.

Recommendations

The Argosy University Seattle Library encourages student and faculty recommendations to enrich our collection. If there are items you feel would support your research here at Argosy University Seattle, please e-mail or return a recommendation form to the Library.

Donations
"No strings attached" donations are always welcome. This means that we will accept any donations only under the full understanding that said donations become the property of the Library and any decisions made regarding these materials are, therefore, entirely subject to the library's jurisdiction. This means that the library may decide, upon inspection, to keep donations, sell them, give them away students, or dispose of them. The library does NOT house collections for donees, nor does it offer any sort of appraisal services or documentation for tax deduction claims. Please contact us if you would like to make a donation.

Lost and Found
The library is the location for the North Campus Lost and Found. Items may also be held at the Security Desk or the Tech Office. You will be required to provide an accurate, detailed description and signature to recover any lost item. The library Lost and Found is emptied between every quarter, and lost items are either donated to local charities or disposed of.
